Trivent Safety Consulting Earns U.S. Dol Approval of Ironworker Apprenticeship Program
Trivent Safety Consulting, previously approved by the Steel Erectors Association of America (SEAA) as a SEAA/NCCER Ironworker Training Unit and Assessment Site, now offers a registered ironworker apprenticeship program.
Trivent Safety Consulting provides full-service consultations that focus on development, implementation and safety and health that not only meets, but exceeds OSHA’s requirements to provide a safe and healthy work environment. Their offered courses range from crane and rigging, hazardous materials, steel erection, fall protection and now ironwork.
Trivent Safety Consulting utilizes the SEAA Ironworker Apprenticeship program template, which meets the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration guidelines for apprenticeship standards.
According to Bryan McClure, owner of Trivent Safety, “SEAA/NCCER Ironworker Training and Apprenticeship ensures that ironworkers have the skills and knowledge necessary to be safe on the job site, competitive in the workplace and satisfied in their careers.”
“As the group administrator for the structural steel ironworker apprenticeship, we are able to share our resources with other area erectors. Currently, more than 20 apprentices from High Plains Steel Services LLC and Flawless Steel Welding LLC, which are also members of SEAA, are enrolled in classes.”
“As an NCCER Accredited Training Sponsor, SEAA helps member companies to position themselves for reduced exposure and improved productivity,” said Tom Underhill, SEAA Executive Director. Recently, both High Plains Steel Services and Flawless Steel Welding received awards for improvements to their safety records based on evaluations of their EMR ratings, OSHA 300A statistics, and safety program processes over the last three years.
SEAA focuses primarily on those in which have a common interest of building with steel by upholding strategic goals that focus on safety and education, craft training, apprenticeship, best practices and standards and cooperation with other industry organizations.
Statista reports that the demand for steel is estimated to exceed 1.3 million metric tons world-wide this year. Not only is steel a widely used commodity, but according to Build Your Future, the demand for ironworkers across the U.S. is over 180,000. With the demand of steel comes a demand for ironworkers and Trivent Safety Consulting’s Ironworker Apprenticeship Program is helping bridge that gap.
