News Brief: NCCER Congratulates 2022 Prize for Teaching Excellence Winners
The National Center of Construction Education and Research (NCCER) would like to congratulate the winners of the 2022 Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence.
Among the winners were three active NCCER instructors:
- Grand Prize Winner: Kristie Jones, Franklin County Career and Technical Center, MS
- Grand Prize Winner: Jason Blackwell, Escambia Career Readiness Center, AL
- Prize Winner: Joshua Bowles, Alexander Central High School, NC
Now in its sixth year, the Prize for Teaching Excellence recognizes outstanding high school skilled trades teachers. Twenty instructors and their programs were awarded a total of $1.25 million in cash prizes this year, including $100,000 each to five grand prize winners.
With both Jones and Blackwell winning the grand prize, this is the second straight year an NCCER instructor has been a Prize for Teaching Excellence grand prize winner.
