The NCCER Construction Site Safety Training program was designed to prepare trainees for the widely recognized safety certifications offered by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, including the Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) and Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC). The program provides broad coverage of safety subjects and best practices that often serve as catalysts for evolutions in safety culture, promoting a safety-first philosophy throughout every level of an organization – from new entrant to management.

NCCER's Construction Site Safety Training Program

The NCCER Safety program is a foundational program in preparing aspiring safety professionals for the widely recognized safety certifications offered by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, including the Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC) and Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certifications.  In addition, the NCCER CSST credential is required by many owners (particularly in the oil & gas sector) to perform any work on their job sites.

Construction Site Safety Training Program Details

Those who successfully complete a required set of modules from the NCCER safety curricula receive verifiable credentials with one of NCCER’s three safety training designations. These designations are:

  • Construction Site Safety Orientation (CSSO)
  • Construction Site Safety Supervisor (CSSS)
  • Construction Site Safety Technician (CSST)
